Overview
PRESTO is a transit payment system used across Toronto and nearby regions. The existing app primarily focused on checking balance and transactions, but lacked deeper functionality and user engagement. The goal of this redesign was to transform the app into a more user-centric and feature-rich experience, making it easier for commuters to track spending, manage time, and navigate transit efficiently.

The Challenge
The original PRESTO app had several usability issues: - Limited functionality (mainly balance check and transactions) - No clear visibility of transfer timing - Users unsure if they were saving money with passes - Cluttered information and underutilized mobile potential Users often had to rely on mental calculations or external tools to manage their commute efficiently.
The Solution
The redesign introduced a Transfer Window Timer to track remaining transfer time and a Smart Expense Tracker to visualize spending and suggest savings. It also improved information hierarchy with a cleaner layout, added an interactive card UI for better engagement, and simplified navigation to reduce clutter and enhance usability.
The Result
The redesigned experience: - Made transit information more accessible and easier to understand - Reduced cognitive load by eliminating manual calculations - Improved decision-making with data-driven insights - Created a more engaging and modern mobile experience Overall, the app evolved from a basic utility tool into a smart transit companion that enhances daily commuting.
